8/9/2005 Publication of Meeting The NHS Service Delivery and Organisation (SDO) Research and Development Programme - Call for proposals

The SDO Programme is continuing its programmes of work on Patient and Carer-centred Services, Change Management and Evaluating Models of Service Delivery. Proposals are now invited to conduct further research under these themes.

PATIENT AND CARER-CENTRED SERVICES

Continuity of Care

Ref: SCA138 'A synthesis and conceptual analysis of the SDO Programme’s research on continuity of care'. Funding of up to £70,000 is available for a literature review, which should take no longer than 6 months to complete and start by May 2006.
Applicants are asked to submit proposals for the above call by Wednesday 9 November 2005 at 1.00 pm, quoting ref. No. SCA138.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT

Ref: TL126 'How is leadership transmitted through health service organisations to effect service delivery?' Funding of up to £400,000 is available for a single empirical study, which should take no longer than 3 years to complete and start by May 2006.
Applicants are asked to submit proposals for the above call by Wednesday 16 November 2005 at 1.00 pm, quoting ref. No. TL126.

EVALUATING MODELS OF SERVICE DELIVERY

Ref: BC133 'Maternity services: an evaluation of midwifery-led units'. Funding of up to £400,000 is available for a single empirical study, which should take no longer than 3 years to complete and start by May 2006.

Applicants are asked to submit proposals for the above call by Thursday 17 November 2005 at 1.00 pm, quoting ref. No. BC133.

Ref: FC125 'Scoping exercise on Fallers' Clinics for the assessment and prevention of falls. Funding of up to £80,000 is available for a scoping exercise, which should take no longer than 6 months to complete and start by May 2006.

Applicants are asked to submit proposals for the above call by Thursday 10 November 2005 at 1.00 pm, quoting ref. No. FC125.

APPLICATION PROCESS

The research call for SCA138 is for a literature review. Proposals should be submitted using a literature review application form.
The research calls for TL126 and BC133 are for empirical studies. Proposals should be submitted using a full application form.
The research call for FC125 is for a scoping exercise. Proposals should be submitted using a scoping exercise form.
