ESRC launches Social Science Week 2006

On 9 March 2006, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) launched Social Science Week 2006, which celebrates some of the very best British social science research as well as highlighting the ways in which social science touches our everyday lives.

Social science is an area of academic research where Britain excels and British social scientists are especially good at spotting issues that cross traditional academic boundaries, including those between the social sciences and other sciences. Social Science Week runs in conjunction with National Science Week to demonstrate just how integral social science is to the wider science agenda. This is particularly evident in the debate surrounding climate change.
