Changing intentions and behaviour

On 25 September 2006, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) published research results (Does changing attitudes, norms or self-efficacy change intentions and behaviour?) which show that positive, informative strategies that help people set specific health and environmental goals, are far more effective when it comes to encouraging behaviour change than negatives strategies which employ messages of fear, guilt or regret.
