On 19 March 2007, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) hosted a procurement seminar for contractors on their social and economic research frameworks. The aim of the seminar was to raise awareness about procurement procedures and recent developments in commissioning practices. It also provided an opportunity for contractors to meet social research team members.

In light of feedback from contractors, HMRC is now reviewing certain aspects of the procurement process. For example, as the framework is now two years old HMRC will contact all contractors to ask for updated information on their organisation.
The event was well attended and HMRC received positive feedback from participants. One suggested that other government departments should consider holding a similar event.
