All taught modules will be assessed by course work assignment. There are no examinations.
The degree will be awarded following successful completion of the approved set of modules amounting to a total of 180 credits.
The Institute of Education’s regulations allow students who gain 120 credits to leave the degree course with a Postgraduate Diploma, and for 90 credits, a Postgraduate Certificate qualification. However, the expectation and associated costs are that students will complete the 180 credits and leave with an MSc degree.
The Institute of Education is responsible for the assessment of the degree programme, including drawing up and marking the assessments and establishing the Board of Examiners and appointing an external examiner.
The rules and regulations concerning course work assignments and their assessment are detailed in the student handbook which you will receive at the beginning of the academic year.
